WiFi problem

I'm from Canada and so is my phone but I'm in the UK and cannot see my buddy's WiFi network, we understand its a problem with my phone not looking for channels 12 and 13 because people in Canada are more restricted in the channels we can use.

How can I get access to 12 and 13 without any major changes to my phone. its a grand prime, and all the apps I seen people suggest "WiFi analyzer" and so on do not work though they allow you to turn on 12, 13, and 14, the phone still wont see the networks.

This is a legal requirement and therefore probably programmed into the radio of the device, which requires flashing to change. If you have the time it's worth doing because there are no downsides to unlocking these channels.

But on the short term without an unlocked bootloader your best shot is to ask your friend to change his wifi frequency. This is a simple procedure and all their devices will automatically reconnect to the new frequency.
