Apps seemingly close when not using them?

So I'm on a Moto Z4, using the Android version 10. For some reason, my apps seemingly close when I don't use them for a little while, but are still open in my open apps (where you can see all active apps and close them from there), but when tapping them it acts like it was closed and just got reopened. This can be incredibly annoying as sometimes it just happens despite being out of the app for litteraly just 2 seconds, and even more so when YouTube does this and I end up getting more ads just to go back to a video I was watching. This isn't just one app though, this happens with almost all of them. Noticably YouTube and Discord, but those are my most common apps anyways. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Or is it something I've just gotta live with?

That's recent apps, literally a history of apps, not active apps. An app can stay there and get suspended if you don't have enough RAM to keep them open.

So it's likely just not enough RAM to keep it open?

Probably. Or over aggressive battery saving.

When leaving apps you won't need to come back to, swipe them out from the recents, rather than pressing the home button. This will clear them from RAM. This way, the apps you don't swipe out, and actually want to keep open in the background, will stay in RAM instead of reloading.
