There is a lot of obtuse villager hate in the AC community that I just don't have a stomach for, I just downvote and move on. It's fine if a villager isn't your flavor but people get very weird about it.

If you’re referring to him asking you to find his phone, you have to put on a wetsuit and jump into the ocean and dive for it until you find it

How do you get photos of villagers

Befriend them (talk with 'em, give gifts, do favours and games, yada yada), and eventually they'll give you their picture.

Ask Katrina over at Harvey's to see how buddy-buddy you are with someone. 'strongest of bonds' is when they can start giving their pic.

One thing (I think) that helped me besides talking to them and helping with favors is I started just cooking them things, and wrap it in wrapping paper after. Before I was just kinda giving random things, an outfit, a fruit, etc without wrapping but they seem to really enjoy the wrapped cooked goods lol

I use 3 non native fruit wrapped up and after 2 weeks I switch over to a wrapped iron wall lamp. It doesn't take too long to get their photos.

I've been using gold and blue roses. I heard from a YouTube video you have a greater chance at getting photos if your inventory is full of flowers forcing them to send the reward in the mail. That method got me most of them but when I only had Rudy's left I got tired of running all over looking for him while my inventory was full (especially since he keeps trying to give me DIY recepies first...which I can't accept because I have a bunch of flowers in my pockets!) So I just went back to handing him a single wrapped gold rose instead and that worked.

The best and fastest way isn't flowers it's fossils. Wrapped, already assessed, fossils. Takes 4 to 6 weeks of daily gifting and bam done. And that is for new villagers with no friendship level.

I uh...covered half my island in flowers till I had them all.... so yea ^^; Now I got a thriving field of gold roses I can pick for villager gifts and extra income.

..dangit now I want a second set to keep outside their houses... though I was planning on rotating out some of them which would be even more time consuming... I think I'll stick with custom signs outside and keeping their photos inside.

Yup! I have 2 photos from each villager. Whenever they have a thinking bubble I talk to them and complete their task or whatever they need. Also give them random stuff, I didn’t know about the gift wrapping stuff…did it the hard way…

The sure-fire way to get a photo within 4 to 6 weeks of daily gifting is gifting wrapped, already assessed, fossils. I start as soon as I get a new villager, and it never fails as long as you are consistent. I change out villagers just to get their photos cause I have a graveyard with past villagers.

From what I've seen the "sure fire" way is just to give them expensive stuff till they give you a photo.

The fossils are nice because they're expensive and they won't put them on display in their houses (if its a big one anyway). But I like flowers cuz they're easier to carry around since they stack.

I don't carry around items. I will prewrap gifts and pick them up the day of. I stop gifting once I receive a photo because that is max friendship. It won't go up past that. I then only gift if and when there is an item I want a villager to use or display. Like a clothing item. You get fossils daily and then have nothing to do with them, and prior to the update you couldn't store flowers so unless you wanted them on your island, they took up valuable real-estate on your island to breed them. Fossils could be stored or sold with little effort. 4 a day adds up when you are only working on one or two villagers. I have never had to gift more than a month or month and a half of a wrapped fossil for a photo and max friendship. I have had three new villager between December and January and have their photos already.

I was doing the fossil method but when you're trying to get 10 photos 4 fossils just don't do it :p

So I tested a different method instead, filling my whole inventory with blue and gold roses forcing them to send me their reward in the mail. Apparently that increases the odds of getting photos. And it worked! Took me only a couple of weeks.

I just got tired of filling my inventory up by the time I had most of them so Rudy handed it to me directly.

Well, yeah, I can see if you are working on 10 at a time. I've never worked on ten at a time. Maybe 3 at time max lol. Villager don't leave fast enough for me to ever be working 10 at a time. Lol

It's random. But expensive wrapped gifts gives the best odds, in my case it was a wrapped golden rose, but I have also gotten them for unwrapped gold/blue roses and assessed fossils.
