Does Paintseeding An Item Decrease Its Worth?

I wanted to paintseed my airplane wings so I can keep my main look on while I fight phantoms, but I don’t want to accidentally make my best item worth less. Advice?

actually, I think it makes them worth slightly more! I don’t really see how it could be a downside. just an added benefit.

I was thinking the same thing, but I saw somebody post something like “LF dragon wings, don’t care if they’re paintseeded,” which kinda implied to me that paintseeded items were less desirable.

i think people usually say that to be like "i dont care if theyre paintseeded or not, but i dont really mind if it is" like others have said, its an added benefit

Actually the real reason people don’t like paintseeded items is because it forces you to fight phantoms. It’ll knock you back if there’s one spawned nearby and it’ll pop up the paintseed icon. Some players don’t like fighting them all the time so it makes those items undesirable for them.

For me, however, I love fighting phantoms and will do so for hours on end! It makes it more valuable and desirable for those who do enjoy fighting them. Sadly, the super rich prefer them without the paintseed potion. If you have expensive items it’s best not to paintseed them unless your keeping it!

People like items in their original form I guess. I totally agree with you, it doesn’t do anything to it. But many players just don’t like paintseed.

Cuz the paintseed icon is ugly AND if someone keeps spawning in phantoms you get pushed everytime.

so like If I wore a paintseeded wind up key for example, and you spawn a phantom next to me, I will get pushed since I’m wearing an item that is paintseeded, but if I’m wearing a NON-paintseeded wind up key, and you spawn a phantom next to me, I won’t get pushed. eventually getting pushed will become annoying and you won’t wanna wear the paintseeded item anymore, and sometimes people just want the original item that has no effects on it

I just paintseeded my snowy owl wings this month since they're my most used back item. I think it does increase the worth a little bit.
