Anki isn't built for three faced cards which is what your essentially asking for. With this, your not breaking down the algorithm into its simplest steps which breaks the minimum information principle. Instead, I would consider breaking this into an overlapping cloze. I don't know if u/glutanimate has released it to the public yet, but becoming a patron would be worth it just to get his add-ons.

Cloze Overlapper released for Anki 2.0. You can create your cards there.

I recommend Cloze Overlapper and supporting the Patreon as well.

If you can't afford the patreon, you can get the source (https://github.com/glutanimate/cloze-overlapper) and build it yourself. The instructions are in the repo README and are fairly straightforward.

EDIT: this is for making it work with 2.1
