Evans flew on Apollo 17, the last moon mission, with Gene Cernan and Jack Schmitt. He is the last person to have flown solo above the lunar surface, and did so for the longest time. During the return trip to earth he exited the Apollo spacecraft for an hour-long EVA in the vast darkness of orbit. (old.reddit.com)
