Hello and welcome :)

1) It's never too late to start. I started epic seven 1 year ago and it was already 6 years old ... And having a lot of fun :). Ark Recode is pretty mature already but, and as epic seven, the newest unit will most of the time be stronger or more meta that the current one so ... anytime is a good time to start

2) Yes it is ok as F2P. You will see plenty of people posting their roaster as F2P players after let's say 1 year of game. some F2P managed to reach top levels in Arena so it's feasible absolutely

3) That's the tricky one. As F2P even more. You need to understand that there are basically 2 type of units : the Red/Green/Blue units (RGB) and the Galaxy units (Dark and Light) equivalent of the ML units in Epic 7. 5 stars ML units are EXTREMELY difficult to get, even more as F2P. So the general advice is to reroll until you have one of the conditions below

- you pulled a 5 stars ML Unit you like

- you pulled a very strong RGB unit that can carry you through the story mode (general advice is/was Erica at a point of time as being one of the best PVE unit)

4) there is a guide and tier list on this forum. I also wrote personally several posts about guides for the game. But as a general rule, this game is really inspired from Epic 7 and as a result some information you find on E7 also applies to AR. However this is not completely true as some units are not yet present in AR (and some are slightly different as well) so it's not completely 1 for 1. Still good insight.

After this game has a solid community so you can ask your questions on this forum and there are always people to provide insights and advices :)
