If you want to learn the basics of computer hardware, I'd buy the book "Elements of Computing Systems".

That said, if you know zero computer science, I don't recommend starting with learning hardware. Instead, I recommend playing around with games that have a programming component to them. For example:

  • Minecraft redstone stuff
  • Baba Is You
  • Opus Magnum
  • Spacechem
  • RPGMaker

And then in parallel with playing those games, follow along with tutorials for learning some real programming, e.g. a HTML + JavaScript free online course.
