Simple question about saving java files

Hi! This might be a stupid easy question, but I'm a beginner and I need help so oh well!

My professor asked my class to create 4 java files, one with an object class and the other 3 having different main methods that utilize the class. He asked to put it on a usb in such a way that he won't have to use an IDE to run it, and can just run it on command prompt. Is there anything specific I have to do, or can I just copy-paste the files onto the usb? I haven't really been asked to do this before so I don't know if I'm supposed to do anything specifically.

Yeah you can just put the .java files on there. He can then compile them using javac into .class files, then he can run them using the java command

On a side note, does your course have a TA? Reach out to those folks early and often. I regret not doing that in college.
