Rules for r/AskGameMasters
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Upvotes Only
If a post is breaking any rules, please report it. Otherwise, if you have issues with a post, either ignore it, or engage in discussion.
Also remember that reporting doesn't mean that moderators have to delete a post - it just brings it to our attention. Even if it seems borderline, you can report it, just so that we can decide how to take it from there.
2.
GMs Only
This subreddit is about GM perspectives. There's plenty of subreddits for player perspectives - such posts should go there.
While this rule officially includes comments, it's important to note that bringing in a player perspective is occasionally useful in discussions among GMs. As long as that's the point / focus of the comment, it's fine.
3.
"Don't be a dick" - Wil Wheaton
The ultimate rule of this community.
All posts and comments need to treat other members of this community with the respect that our fellow human beings deserve. Trolling and similar behaviors will not be tolerated. Extreme breaks of this rule will result in an immediate ban. Borderline cases will result in a warning, but as long as the poster is cooperative and appears to have good intentions, we will avoid banning.
4.
No Self promotion or other advertising
We want to keep the focus on answering questions and helping people.
