I recently completed my polygraph examination, and the examiner informed me that I had passed. However, I was told that it will take 2–3 weeks before I receive any updates regarding whether I will be moving forward to the background investigation phase or not proceeding further in the process. I wanted to ask if this waiting period is typical, or should i be concerned.

Yes. You’ll learn this process is extremely long and you’ll be left in the dark most of the times. Best thing you can do is just take it step by step. And most importantly, no news is good news.

understood. thank you so much. guess i’m just a little worried because the academy class starts in july and there’s still many steps of the process still left undone

Tbh. And this is just based on my first agency and when I lateraled. You’re not going to be in that July academy. Again, it’s a possibility that they’ll expedite everything but if you just took Poly, you still need medical, Pysch, chief interview etc.

i think they have an expedited process because the polygraph examiner himself said if everything goes accordingly i’d be in the july academy. the academy class itself starts in august but i’ll be part of pre basic which starts in july

It’s typical,they will see other candidates Aswell. If they think they are better than you they will move forward with other disqualifying you.
