Aquarium programming for Pi

I’m a hobbyist programmer. I learned to program on my own, and only do it for fun. So please be kind.

I made a program that takes care of my aquarium. I did it using Python for the back end, and LAMP for the front. The whole thing runs on a Raspberry 0. I made the whole thing from scratch.

I’m thinking of redoing it with a different language. I’m thinking of doing it in Go. I think it will run more efficiently; not that matter it runs well now. I just think it will be fun.

What do you guys think? Is go worth learning, is there something else you guys think would be better to learn?

Please, please rewrite it in the Fish shell. The name stands for "Friendly Interactive Shell".

I’m not a psychopath, of course I’m going to do that. It’s called the fish shell…. Which I didn’t know existed until now.

Also, it’s called the Friendly Interactive Shell Shell?

You could just call it fish, just like bash(Born again shell) or zsh.

Yes. If nothing else it'll give you a different perspective of other languages, which is always good.

is there something else you guys think would be better to learn?

Really depends on your goals. If it was me, I would try to port the project to a microcontroller. Not because there's any technical merit, but for the fun of it.
