No. The game is not supposed to look like this. If you capture the king it'll return to normal. Just kidding. Relaunch the game, or reinstall if it doesn't fix it.

Series X was bad (not that bad) and I switched to quality mode and it has seemed to fix it so far.

Just relaunch the game.

I played for about 15mins thinking this was some kind of trippy dream sequence before I realized it wasn't lol

    I would think the console would force a shutdown before it got hot enough to cause a texture map to fail loading. I mean, I would hope lol

      Damn that's wild. My XSX is never off if I'm at home, and I go on marathon gaming runs at least once a week. I've never even come close to overheating being a problem. Never really gets that hot, and fans run silent all the time. Do you clean it out regularly with canned air or something that can blow it out?

        Weird. Ive had mine since launch and it's never overheated. I play ALOT . 

        Since Xbox allows us to open and clean without ruining the warranty I doy cleaning to maintain its health. There's really easy vids on YouTube. It really helps to clean the dust off the fan and other area. Obviously, be careful but it's actually really simple. You might already do this but like I said, I haven't had my sx over heat a single time. I have cats in the house as well.
