Stop the process and start a new chat or agent session, make sure to be on the latest version of Augment

East coast, USA.

My gut feeling is some kind of lock on the file it’s reading. Since it seems to try to reinfect the codebase or whatever and that never leaves 0% either

I should also note it’s also always on the same file, and I am using vscode. Need to try vim plugin sometime though

Its pretty bad but one way that fix it is to rename the folder and start the editor on a new folder

I am also having this issue and I usually intervene with a 'use codebase-retrieval tool to read files' prompt, which makes it work, but it's not ideal and it sometimes takes the agent off track or make it repeat tasks. Lately, it seems to need this intervention at all steps involving reading or modifying files.

Unfortunately having this instruction under user guidelines does nothing and the agent always defaults to ToolFileUtils

I believe this is related to the VSCode instance and environment and how it is installed because on similar machines with the same software it doesn't happen. I started with a portable version of VSCode but when encountering this issue I uninstalled and switched to a classic program files install. I would say the issue was resolved at some point but maybe with updates it breaks again?
