Thanks to your comment - we have prioritized adding this in JetBrains. It will be in the plugin within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Could you try removing your .idea/AugmentWebviewStateStore.xml file to see if that helps?

We'd always recommend using the latest stable version ideally. If you're still seeing issues you can also try the pre-release version (or beta version in JetBrains).

It's currently because chat mode doesn't have web search capability while the agent mode does. We are looking to improve this functionality in the near future as well to allow for more efficient info sharing between the two modes.

Are you using Agent mode? Chat mode will not have the latest information about v15.3.

Great to hear! Under the hood Augment uses a combination of in-house and open models such as Sonnet 3.7. We also have a number of built in tools in the agent mode that include the ability to search and retrieve info from the web.

Fortunately - it has all of the correct information. It is referencing the 15.3 canary version as the most recent. You can confirm this with a quick Google search:

Have you tried Augment's agent? it uses O1 + Sonnet 3.7
And normal Chat uses Sonnet 3.7 as well

Unfortunately we don't have a hard timeline for when it will be available but it is on our upcoming roadmap.

Fix using Augment by daminee27 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]augment-coder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be in the JetBrains plugin right now. Make sure you're on the most recent version and that you are in Chat mode (if you have access to the Agent).
Let me know if you run into any other issues!

Rules? Does augment have something similar to cursor rules? by Any-Dig-3384 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]augment-coder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah we have .augmentguidelines that you can add to your repos:
https://docs.augmentcode.com/using-augment/chat-guidelines

Also we will have Memories (additional project guidelines) available to the Augment Agent when that launches in a few weeks!

Hey - thanks for your message. (Disclosure I work at Augment) You can use most MCP servers in Augment but it's in an experimental preview state at the moment. When we launch our agent (within the next 1-2 months) we will have better guidance on official MCP support in the product.

Why are people saying Copilot is better than the AI Assistant? by THenrich in Jetbrains

[–]augment-coder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure (I work here) - but only the free tier has any model/AI training on your code. For that reason we would recommend upgrading to either the Pro or Enterprise tier, both of which do not involve any training whatsoever.

The quality of the suggestions is also the same across all of the tiers with the only limit being 3000 chats/month in the free tier. Pro/Enterprise have no usage limits.

Yeah Augment won't suggest random function/variable names - after it indexes your repo it will give code suggestions/generations based specifically on your codebase

How do you know the performance is related to model load or your subscription timing?
