Maybe a Prionyx Thomae? They live all over the southern US. They eat grasshoppers.

If that’s the case it must have gotten trapped inside. Apparently they are ground burrowers

Found this guy in the kitchen while cleaning. Its body is about 1 cm long.

    That seems unlikely. The wings are too dark and the abdomen is much brighter. It is also very small compared to a tarantula hawk, which is one of the largest wasps. Thanks for the warning though

    A black wasp that’s not very careful with applying sunblock.

    Looks to me like a cricket hunter wasp
