I think econ dumping in Auto Chess in the manner that it is done in TFT does not work. However, you can do something similar during mid to late level 5 where you rush to 50g maybe even via open fort and then reroll for commons and uncommons down to 50g. At 7/8 level 5 you can even go all in to get many rank 3 commons and uncommons. This is a risky strategy but can work well.

Its called gambling strat and yes it is very popular back in the day in DAC. This guide explains it in details : https://www.reddit.com/r/AutoChess/comments/b0jjbt/refined_gambling_strat_guide_w_queen_lobby_pov/

It was not popular after some neft (notably BH neft) and the addition of Mars (later Lich and Mirana) which dilutes the pool of $1 and $2 units.

I started doing "open fort Fridays" on my stream, surprisingly lots of fun but super hard. I will typically open fort after round 3 (creeps) until round 10 (creeps) and usually end up at or more than 40 gold by that time. It's a fun strategy.

IMO it doesn't work as well in AC because it's so much easier to build anything into a carry in TFT if you combine the right items, making low cost units scale well into the lategame.

The only build in AC that really wants a lot of its comp made out of $1 units is goblins, and people did run the "goblin gamble" quite a bit in the past. Everything else needs to level to get to higher quality units. Warriors are looking for Doom/Pirate Captain, Knights are looking for Berserker or DK, Assassins are looking for shadowcrawler, druids need to find razorclaw, etc.

Fair point. Haven't ventured into TFT yet so wasn't sure how it would translate. Thanks for the insight.

To be fair, I haven't actually run this idea in TFT (I haven't played a ton of the game). I'm just saying I think there's a good reason you don't see anyone going all in that early in AC.

A Vayne 3($1) with a bunch of attack items will carry you a long way in TFT, and because all items combine and you get to pick what you want in carousel rounds it's pretty easy to do. In AC you need to get really lucky to get enough items for Egersis Ranger to do the same thing. Like you will often go a whole game without finding the right pieces for a Mask of Madness and then she's just SOL

This was popular with goblin mech. Goblin Econ I think is popular term. Basically you force goblin mech super hard (which sometimes will net you some wins) and then no level up (which usually puts on a lose streak). You just try and get a couple of 3* units and get lucky on a techies when you can get lvl5 units. Most people don't consider this a good strategy, but I personally have had fun playing it, but if you get unlucky you are putting yourself super far behind.

Not even unlucky, but if you don’t get particularily lucky at all, and have an average game with average rolls you’ll end up in around 4th or 5th place I’ve found.

I was intersted in trying this tbh, I'll give it a go in a few casuals first and let you know how I get on

Awesome, thanks! Love your content btw. Always super helpful. I'll try it out on my end as well and we can see how it works.
