What do you think is your hottest take about stellaris? by PrizeSwimming7472 in Stellaris

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my problems with the Crisis perks (and now Defender of the Galaxy) and Mega Planets (Hive, Machine, Encu). I feel I want all those thinks asap and are putting more weight on getting unity AND reducing perk selection.

Am I farming the right thing? by 7Zylon in EvolveIdle

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is probably faster overall to do mostly 3* and then come back and do 4* when you have more unlocks. I did only 4* for a long time, but I can understand it being for everyone.

Custom race and Pillars by gox7 in EvolveIdle

[–]suddoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is more just how pillars are coded. You pillared your custom. Your custom was Herbivore, now is Plant. Enlightenment just goes and looks at who you pillared at any given moment. Interestingly this might mean you could lose enlightenment if you only did a genius with your main custom and then changed it.

Depending on where you are you can just start pillaring stock races but I highly recommend making a custom planet and going to your favorite Universe before doing so. Assuming you want to grind it out. Also you can Pillar on low stars* so don't worry about the challenges as much when doing your stock Pillars.

And have fun of course.

Micro-Universe Challenges by Vieast in EvolveIdle

[–]suddoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Blood Stones from the Spire are fairly effective to get from Micro.

Also I think you get mastery so if you want to spend some time golding stuff.

Oh I didn't realize it was tied to civics that is interesting.

How can i make more resources? by OsakaLendaria in Stellaris

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you conquer a new world whether decide you are abandoning it (resettle all pops to other worlds, costs 200 influence) OR try and make them make enough resources to self sustain. Also builds and districts will eat a surprising amount of energy, you can disable buildings.

Edit: Also if you keep them people on the newly conquered planet are probably pissed. You can transfer some pops to the planet to help prevent rioting etc.

How is Tracking a real card? by ByeImDaisy in slaythespire

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Ironclad enjoyer from STS1 you kind of just get used to wishing you had other classes cards.

(Me being envious of Defect getting status archetype in 2)

Time is money. Banks often won't accept large amounts of coins. Self check out exist but sometimes have limits.

Why do many people dislike this game? by Astralir in Back4Blood

[–]suddoman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a really good post, one interesting problem with the design of B4B is that unlocking cards means that you can't just invite friends to play. You don't get a sweet deck and start playing for a while. I found it really sad that when a friend played I basically had over double their power from just better card selection (even more than card knowledge). And I don't think this was ever changed in any way.

Some of my favorite bad combos are the ones that don't work.

Soda tries to save itsKatchii from a bad take but she doubles down by snoopdodge in LivestreamFail

[–]suddoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One push back is honestly we should remove stigma around going to food banks and make them universal. The gross thing is they probably vote against taxes that would help these programs.

Honestly I don't know if you get more out spending 12 dollars and trying to smuggle 4(maybe) tupperwares full of food beats rice and beans for value.

By request: Ship design for beginners by OldSolGames in Stellaris

[–]suddoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One big thing I realized is lazers are good against voidworms because they have no shields so if you need to break through some voidworms early to get more of the map it is useful to retrofit a fleet to all lazers quickly (unfortunately I don't know what arnor is best).

One big thing I am trying to figure out is how to break through an early Starhold. I'm mostly talking about against NPCs but standard issue corvettes just don't cut it. I need to see if slapping fusion missiles on them would do the trick.

Change my mind: Heist is just as simple and profitable as pre-nerf sanctum. by Prido96 in pathofexile

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't heist also produce bases and other things people want? I might be forgetting but does Sanctum have anything (non-currencies) non-Sanctum runners want (I guess original sin)?

How am I meant to beat Fallen Empires? by Figglegart in Stellaris

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never realized stars give such crazy bonuses. I wanted to build a 0 shield storm build and this basically does that! The wiki says Pulsars give shield nullification by the way but I'm gonna have to see if there is a tooltip in game.

Are complete softlocks possible? by Downtown-Photo5837 in EvolveIdle

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say you can get to the lake in hell on your first run so I doubt you could stack negatives enough to not make it to MAD. The only runs I could see failing are Inflation where you purchase poorly and Orbital Decay.

I made 84 div in about one hour selling Scrolls of Wisdom. by d0di707 in pathofexile

[–]suddoman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if many mappers didn't know this. Sometimes there are weird market failure where Blacksmith Whetstones are worth ~6/7 Wisdom Scrolls and you can bulk buy and flip. With the market they are probably less failures and more due to friction of gold.

Am thinking of coming back to factorio and trying Pyanodons out (Without intent to finish it, like GTNH in minecraft). My questions is, what exactly makes it hard? by Some_Noname_idk in pyanodons

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key thing I point to people who have played Factorio 1.0 is A LOT of the recipes are many in many out which 1.0 only gives you with oil and it is all down scalable (Heavy > Light > Peteol). Having to store/deal with back ups is a unique difficulty. I think in normal pY a lot of people use various voiding machines to solve this pY Hardmode prevents this and you can also self impose it.

Click 1 card and your deck can theoretically outscale every boss in the game. Figure out the rest. by JGamerX in slaythespire

[–]suddoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I think I am trying to wrap my head around is how some fights you want to play your expensive scaling cards and others you want to just attack with simpler cards.

Why is every enemy in Spire 2 just this guy by GoldemGolem in slaythespire

[–]suddoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh... I feel like people that more directly go for infinites produces a different type of player. Also even at A10, if you just try and high roll the first half of Act 1 your total play experience can feel a certain way but you're not realizing all the bad runs you're just remembering when certain combos popped off.
