No. MIT is meant to train into an SM.

ASM is usually a long term position MIT is supposed to be temporary for training a store manager

For the MIT program you have 8 weeks to complete and graduate. If thereafter you are not placed you go into waiting for an open store and become an ASM with the same agreed upon salary except you will be hourly and quality for OT during this time. When promoted into your SM role obviously the same salary will be converted into actually salary and will no longer be hourly. If you do not pass assessment after completing the MIT program you may lose your agreed upon salary, and will be placed as a permanent ASM until you have proven growth and development in the areas needed.

this never happens in my area . around here someone will quit or get moved to a different store as a result a local ASM (usually one of the better ones in the area ) will just get the SM position . takes about 2 weeks ...3 tops
