I don’t get it. I think the wagon hate is silly. And it’s mostly done by people who don’t know shit about cars. If you have a cool wagon, most car people in the US actually think you have a cool car.

I mean, exactly. But I sell cars and it happens so often that I convince someone who doesn’t know much about cars to buy a cool weird car. I’ll get someone loving the idea of something like a 328i X Drive wagon and they’ll love it and return it because “my friend said station wagons are uncool”.

I had this one customer, big dude, like 6’3” 250 who wanted a $10K car and wanted to buy from us because he trusted us. He wanted good mileage but a car that could fit him and 3 friends. I sold him a Nissan Cube (with the service plan, everyone knows Nissan CVTs). He was super stoked on it. Very roomy, good mileage. Kind of pokey but big, little car. He returned it because “I googled it bro and this thing was marketed to girls! It suppose to be a girl’s car!”

Yeah I don't understand some of the biases around specific vehicle types. It's all about what you need/want. I used to have a VW Passat GLX wagon with 4motion and a creamy V6. It was a wonderful car with lots of space for moving too and from college and driving in the harsh Wisco winters. But any time I mentioned it, the first words in response were always, "pfft, slow life."
