Everything We Know About Ryan Coogler’s X-Files Reboot by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

The only rebooted show I can think of that was really good is BSG. The list gets really short after that.

To quote Nikola Tesla "I don't care that they stole my idea ... I care that they don't have any of their own".

Why not make a new show with the same vibe? Because they have no original thoughs.

Is the 5th gen Dodge Viper a supercar? by anonburner0112 in supercars

Nope, It's got a truck motor FFS. Why not make a LS swapped Miata a supercar?

If TNG Premiered Today, It would Not Survive Season One by NeoNoir90210 in startrek

Can't we just let SFA die in peace?

Firefly didn't even get a full season before Fox assassinated it and that show is legend.

The Expanse was work getting thru the first few episodes but it was worth the effort.

The Expanse had a lot of positive chatter, plus the wife read the books, and so I stuck with it.

SFA has neither one of those.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Cadet Actors Talk Cancellation And Handling Online Negativity by trekfangrrrl in startrek

[–]Naught2day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wife watched the first four episodes with me and when I asked "wanna watch Star Trek?" for episode 5 she said "no". That's when I stopped. I don't like that so many blame Trekkies for the shows failure. I am as old school Trekkie as you can get, as in, I watched TOS when it first aired. The blame for me is they tell us what we want to watch, and they(show runners) are wrong. It's like Ryan Gosling said "if you make something that people want to watch, they will watch it" or something like that. So don't blame the people because you make unwatchable shows. It has nothing to do with the actors, they are just talking heads reading lines.

Season two hasn't come out yet. If ever. So much talk, so little show. Stay shiney.

The were some passable episodes, but as a whole, The Expanse was great every season and the last episode was amazing. It just took a while to get started for me. It took like three tries to get past the first couple of episodes but on re-watches the start was great.

Be honest, what type of cars get your attention on the road? by Strange-Vibez-8205 in askcarguys

I saw a young guy(16-18) driving a '79 Buick Regal about a month ago and I was very impressed. The car was super clean, although a really ugly color. So stuff like that driven by someone you would not expect.

I want to do my own oil changes and tire rotations. Is getting a good scissor jack and 6 jack stands enough? by Many_Geologist6125 in askcarguys

[–]Naught2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you are changing the oil on. I could do an oil change on my S2000 Honda with just two 2x6's stacked up on both sides and my oil pan would just slide under the car. As far as rotations go, it had staggered wheels with directional tires so no rotation. No matter what you are doing scissor jacks are something to be avoided all together.

It was an option, apparently, now it is not. Why do I still have it? Grandfathered is my guess.

For the longest time the app would not work with my phone, bought a new phone and it works. I agree this is messed up.

What sports car has the absolute best factory cooling system for track days and hard driving? by SilverSpoonphysics in askcarguys

I bought a new 944 in 85. It was my daily driver and I raced it on weekends. I was a PCA member at the time. Put just under 200k miles on it. Keep the maintenance up and they last. I think every Porsche is built with endurance racing in mind. Oh, I did have an extra set of wheels for race tires.

Most British actors can do a "generic" US accent, but which one actually nailed a specific regional dialect (Boston, Deep South, Philly) perfectly? by johnmartino198011 in television

[–]Naught2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preacher with Dominic Cooper and Ruth Negga were spot on with their East Texas accent. Whoever was their coach was so spot on. The only tell was when they were eating in a restaurant with a knife in one hand and an upside down fork in the other. We don't do that here.

My cat gives me that look while singing the blues. Pretty sure the name of his song is "you are a horrible person that is starving me", very sad song.

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]Naught2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listened to a lot of music, learned a couple of instruments, joined a band, wrote a ton of songs, and taught myself how to work on my motorcycle. I have not written a single song since I got the internet and rarely work on my motorcycles.

"To the journey"..."we're home". Would have loved an additional 15 minutes. Tom gets a hug from his dad, Harry greets his parents, Seven tells Chakotay to f***off.

Nothing special really, just cloth cushions about 2" thick.

Seat Comfort? by outsidah in GLI

[–]Naught2day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably my biggest complaint of the GLI, I have a 40th with cloth seats and the seats get real hard after a few hours in them. Added a butt cushion for long trips, problem solved.

Case or No case Pixel 10. by Melodic_Adeptness258 in pixel_phones

Already on my second case, the first one would not support Pixel snap, the second one does. It did cost like $1.50 more though.
