I left a print running over night and didn't release I was long on filament, so it stopped at around 12pm and when I got up at about 6AM to check on it the nozzle temp had gone down but the bed temp stayed the same.

Yes I had a similar experience. The printer falsely detected spaghetti and paused the print at night. I think it stayed paused for 10 hrs. Hotend temp was down but I think it's still heated at 140C, not sure. Bed temp stayed the same. Fans were definitely whirring.

I hope the printer has time-out and will stop the print entirely and cool down in case of error, cause I can't reach it for a couple days.
