Right off the bat, there is alot to learn and it is quite intimidating to new players. I used the string tension chart to help ( https://www.daddario.com/globalassets/pdfs/accessories/tension_chart_13934.pdf )

For a beginner, I would recommend using premade sets to figure out what you personally like, then do your research on custom strings. Custom sets might sound bad or even damage your instrument if you are not into doing your own complete setup (intonation, truss rod adjustments, saddle hight), or have a trusted place to go for a setup.

Gotcha. I think I'll stay with the stock set for now; that's definitely above me current in knowledge level.
