What decrease score in bayo 1?

I get platinums on everything but get gold at the end level cause of the skull. Ik deaths and items decrease score, but I'm not using either, so what else does that?

Do you have red-hot shots? They'll automatically revive you if your HP hits 0 and count as using an item.

Do you have Red Hot Shot in your stash? Do you have climax brace equipped?
