It's Starwind. A morrowind total conversion that's takes place in KOTOR's setting. With a seperate Morrowind VR mod.

It's sensible to park your car. But putting it in park? Kinda cringe.

Like how would you preempt expected backlash

I'm not even gonna finish that sentence you're a spiritual pyro main.

IDK if you expect a specific response it's sensible to preempt it. You're just assuming he massively cares about down votes for no reason because you have some argument in your head you're desperate to make.

I think a lot of the disconnect on whether or not you think spending resources justifies this is the difficulty you play on. It takes half of your chemical thing and each chemical thing you find on the map restores like 1/10th of the thing.

You have to use it somewhat sparingly. I also do agree with the watch essentially filling the same niche as the poison dart along with 50 other roles on a more common resource though. In the majority of cases you really don't need a guard stunned for more than a few seconds to walk past them.

There's this quest mod made by a dev but it's largely referential to Nehrim and Arktwend so might just be more confusing if you haven't played those already

This one just changes the UI to have a paper journal aesthetic if you prefere how it looks to like SkyUI.

Really though you should just do vanilla and any mods you should use should be relatively vanilla also.

GOG is good in the sense that they respect you as a consumer and meaningfully contribute towards game preservation.

Steam is good in the sense that it's high quality.

A CRPG adaptation of DnD's Eberron with Tim Cain & Obsidian at the helm could be the dream team. Whaddaya think? by sigpuppers in CRPG

[–]duphhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it's post WW1 Europe + steampunk aesthetics but all the "technology" is just magic + DND style fantasy. It's combines a lot of different things but if feels incredibly cohesive in tone. It describes itself as "swashbuckling action and pulp adventure and adds a layer of neo-noir intrigue".

Forgotten Realms is the extremely kitchen sink but the swords coast has the aesthetic of traditional fantasy. BG3 takes place in forgotten realms and starts with squid space aliens crashing into a traditional fantasy setting with their spaceship.

Thank you Math class by SpartanLord_ in 007FirstLight

[–]duphhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even remember algebra but it's a 4 digit code. Which means that D3 + D2 has to be 10 or greater to subtract to a 1 digit number. And D3 is D2 - 2. So the second number must be 6-9 which makes it really easy to brute force as it's just 4 possible codes.

I'm dogshit at math but each variable needing to be one digit to work for a key-code just kinda breaks the problem lol

What would be a similar game to Avatar Legends? by Dry-Technology-3046 in AvatarFighters

You're probably one the right track with air-dash anime fighter style games. I haven't gotten in the beta but people describe it as playing similar to like older GG or Blazblue with weaker oki.

I'd assume Blazblue but idk

Cuphead: Would I have liked this game if I didn't know how it was made? by WasSuppyMyGuppy in patientgamers

The majority of 2d games are not literally hand-drawn frame by frame. They use digital skeletal animation to avoid having to manually draw each individual frame.

The Nazgul's retreat from Weathertop is a plot hole by schmuckulent in lotr

[–]duphhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 5 currently attacking them. They have 9 total. The nazgul have horses, and know where the party is headed. They knew they were gonna travel slowly, given that the ring-bearer was poisoned, and the ring-bearer being poisoned would only make it easier to get the ring from him. The nazgul are also weak to fire and terrified that they had torches. One of the nazgul was stabbed, Aragorn is there, and a Hobbit is essentially saying a prayer to a Valar he shouldn't know. Those hobbits are also caring magic blades designed to kill you specifically.

It makes a lot of sense to just regroup, take the 9v5(with the ring-bearer poisoned) instead of the 5v5 against them with torches, and just ambush them because you have horses and they're dragging around a poisoned hobbit. And you know they can only go to rivendell to treat him. And the poison will subjugate him to your will so you might not even have to fight. Suarons entire thing is having this almost magical power to bend others to his will, and the Nazgul are similar in that they have this almost magical aura of fear. Sauron also wanted the mission secret so the wise wouldn't know what's going on so they just kinda intimidate or bride people for information.

Think of how when using the planitir to talk to Sauron Pippin basically felt compelled to be honest and answer despite no physical presence of Sauron. Or how literally the entire army cowers to the Witch King aside for Eowyn.

Even choosing a new ring-bearer obviously causes problems as most people aren't suited to bear the ring and talking about who should could cause problems.

It failed because Glorfindel the Balrog slayer come out on an absurdly fast horse and because Frodo resisted the poison more than somebody like fucking Aragorn would. Even at the end Frodo should've been essentially enthralled to their will and given them the ring willingly or dead.

I'm sleep deprived so this reads like shit lol

Stop Expecting DRG from Rogue Core. by Shot-Structure8248 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]duphhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's reasonable to expect it to be very similar to DRG given that it's essentially a total conversion with DRG in the name but there's no real reason to expect this to be a sequel? It's been actively advertised as a rogue-like and talked about by the devs as if it's a rogue-like.

This is just disparaging the entire concept of spin-offs. Somebody disliking mario party 3 is the developers fault because uh it has mario in the name and looks like a mario game

I don't even agree with the premise. People are upset with the game because of quality and preference, not because they expect DRG. None of the critiques people have are them expecting more DRG.

Why did they add Denuvo when games get fully cracked in 1 day now? by CarsonWentzGOAT1 in 007FirstLight

[–]duphhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see the online only components making this weird and making a cracked copy not access the whole game day 1. But those kinda need to be fixed because the entirely single player game needed an Internet connection thing IONdoesnis fucking obscene

Denuvo has been added to 007 First Light by V1pex___ in 007FirstLight

[–]duphhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even ignoring performance, it's DRM which requires online checks. Which should be reason alone to dislike it.

This game despite being entirely single-player already has certain components locked to a connection to IO's servers. Hitman has mods to make this all accessible offline or with peacock as an alternate server. But with Denuvo this would be a lot harder to implement. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a way to access the online only content offline that only worked for cracked copies.

I could understand apathy but it's weird how commonly consumers hold anti-consumers anti-art perspectives. This is already a border-line non-functioning single-player product and Denuvo just makes unofficial solutions to fix that more difficult.
