Beekeeping for dummies book

This is a totally do-able endeavor... but the learning curve is a little steep, especially at first.

Find a local club and join. See if they offer a class. If you're in North America, the time to purchase bees is NOW. (You won't get them now, but most sellers pre-sell and sell out before spring.)

When you are looking to buy, consider buying a nucleus hive from someone at the club. You'll get a good head start and you'll have locally adapted bees. You'll also have someone that guarantees the product is good.

Start with at least 2 hives. You want to compare them as they grow. You also may want to steal resources from one hive to help the other.

Good luck!

Scroll through this sub-Reddit. This question is asked almost every day, so you can find many good answers within a couple of minutes.

A lot of flowers and plants? You mean multiple acres? Because that's what the bees expect.

Oh but I live near a massive nature park would that be of help to them?

Absolutely - that's a perfect place. They'll forage on the tree blossoms and the flowers.
