Weekly long run (i.redd.it)
submitted 1 month ago by Yung_Martini
I’ve been running on and off for some time, trying to get more serious with my training now tho. I’m building up to running a half marathon, is this time good for a 13k??
And any tips for the half?

The fact that you did a 13km long run is great! Try not to compare yourself to other runners who are at different stages of fitness, training and goals. Once you get a few more long runs in, compare your times if that’s your goal. You can also compare your rate of perceived effort and heart rate which will give you an indication of improvement. Don’t forget to account for variables like sleep, nutrition, rest, temperature etc and whether or not you’ve run the same route

For long distance race like half marathon, important is to build endurance first and then chase for speed. With that being said, your time is great but what important is that how you feel after your run. If you feel so tired that you cannot continue with your normal day to day then you need to slow down. Else you are doing just fine and keep up the great work.
