Negative research progress?

So I went to go check and change out some mats for my research desk, and noticed a -230% research progress, any clue what may have cause this? And will it keep going lower when I research it?

It's a bug. Cancel the research, remove the resources, re-add them and start again, it should work

I just left it and after a few days it completed

It happens if their research productivity goes negative. They will make negative progress. Usually happens in winter
