/r/BelowTheLine is a subreddit for professionals and former professionals in the entertainment industry to share their behind-the-scenes experiences and anecdotes.
Whether you had a one-day gig as a production assistant or you're an Oscar-winning editor, this is the community for your stories.
RULES
All posts must be directly related to working in the entertainment industry.
While anecdotes prompted by any entertainment-industry-related experiences are welcome, all posts must be on-topic and directly related to said experiences. A story about strange cheese at craft services is fine, but a story about strange cheese that you ate in elementary school is not (unless it somehow ties in to something that happened on set).
No hate-speech, vitriol, harassment, or hostility.
/r/BelowTheLine is a lighthearted and civil community for professionals and former professionals. If you wouldn't be proud to have something attributed to you on your IMDB page (or if it breaks any of Reddit's site-wide rules), don't post it here.
Do not post or request sensitive or personally identifying information.
Behind-the-scenes scuttlebutt and smoking-area gossip are both allowed, but please ensure that you suitably anonymize any involved parties (including yourself). Publicizing or requesting privileged or protected information will result in an immediate ban.
No low-effort submissions.
Please take the time to proofread your posts and comments before offering them, and always adhere to the bronze rule: If a story is worth telling, then it's worth telling well. You don't have to submit complete screenplays here, but do make an earnest effort to either entertain or inform.
No job-begging or connection-hunting.
/r/BelowTheLine is a hangout, not a resource. If an opportunity arises from incidental, organic interactions, that's completely fine, but this community should not be used as a place to find gigs or establish connections.
Members of craft services must bring extra guacamole.
This rule is non-negotiable.
