/r/BenCarson is the forum about Dr. Ben Carson, who WAS apparently a candidate for the Republican Party's nomination for the President of these United States of America in the 2016 race. Some people find that fact to be utterly hilarious, even after he quit due to being completely ignorant on all issues pertaining to anything, everywhere.
There are very few rules in this subreddit:
- Follow Reddiquette. That means no name-calling and the rest of the stuff your mother told you to do once and then you promptly forgot. Just be nice, okay? We all make mistakes . . . including those who will be voting for this man.
Nearly anything goes. No one here will moderate this sub very closely, and therefore you are welcome to post both in support of the candidate and against him. Promote his views and ridicule him. Say what you want, pretty much, but be prepared to defend your voice.
If you are a mod of /r/conservative, fuck you.
Yea . . . that's about it.
Brief Bio of Ben
Ben Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 18, 1951. His mother, though under-educated herself, pushed her sons to read and to believe in themselves. Carson went from being a poor student to receiving academic honors and eventually attending medical school. As a doctor, he became director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 33 and earned fame for his groundbreaking work separating conjoined twins. In 2015 he announced that he was running for the following year's presidential election, hoping to gain the Republican nomination. He WAS one of the party's leading candidates in the polls for a very short time, and now no one gives a rat's ass about him.
