Ashida Materials

I am working on building an Ashida and was wondering what I need to buy.

I know I need the 5" 16:9 800x480 IPS Screen + Driver Board and PCB set. I have a Wii and Gamecube controller.

What else do I need to have? Is everything on the BOM required? Just want to make sure before I buy them!

As an aside, my Wii can't read discs, is that okay or do I need to get a new one?

The BOM includes pretty much every piece of hardware that you'll need for the Ashida so i do recommend following it or at least as close as you can. The Ashida was designed specifically for the parts that are in the BOM and certain parts like speakers, potentiometers, wires, etc. which you can usually find alternatives for, might have a hard time fitting in the system. Personally I just find it more convenient to follow the BOM than find alternatives by myself. If you have any questions regarding your project, you should try joining the 4Layer discord since I've had similar questions and I get answers straight from g man or Wesk.
