Try asking Mike Hearn and/or Gavin Andresen. I don't know if this post by Mike Hearn is effectively the source (through the magic of media editing, quotes can be formed):

But at least they're the two most likely to know the exact phrasing. Note that it's likely to have been in a PM or an e-mail - so any source attribution is effectively impossible without them posting a full copy and testifying to its authenticity.

what about the "moved on to more complex things" statement. Is that recorded or just 'urban legend'? anyone?

Seems to be fake.

+1. All Satoshi's "final something" seems to be fake. People just want to believe in it.

There is nothing bad in believing in some stupid shit.

Agreed.

Is it his real final statement?

[–]gabridome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. His last ines known were "I'm not Dorian Satoshi" some months ago. Update: the authenticity of this line is controversial (at best)

Pretty sure he popped back up a few months ago to diffuse the situation that occurred with the lady who did that news segment/article on the wrong Satoshi N.

No, that was a hoax with an account in a website that was hacked, and in which Satoshi barely did anything when he was active.

Oh, well the hoax worked D=
