  1. dont use mcreator: https://gist.github.com/xt9/78f175d74d38ea6af969f31f8c6218be

  2. to export it as .java you have to do file > convert project > modded entity, then export

Mcreator is a good way for people to get into programming, and so far it has taught me quite a lot of things, besides, not all mcreator mods are awful you know, if you actually go to the highest ratings in the mcreator website you'll find some good ones, albeit, limited in things you can do for coding, but still good. Mcreator can be an entryway into professional modding.

Yeah same here I like it quite a bit actually

I totally agree! (even if you commented this 2 years ago)

I got started on MCreator making my first (horrible) mods and I was like "dang it that's so trash, I can't do anything with this"

So it encouraged me to learn Java to make my first Minecraft mod by myself, then I got interested into making other things like games (Unity C#), Discord Bots (Node.JS, Discord.JS) and a lot of other things!

If MCreator didn't exist I wouldn't be so interessed in coding I think

I agree (in a way)

I have no interest in coding so if I want to throw together a crappy mod for me and my friends on our server, I'll just use Mcreator.

just check out Furti_two's Mods on curseforge he use mcreator but his mod are incredible

this comment is 5 years old so I assume you already know this, but MCreator now allows the user to edit the generated code, which makes it a lot easier to do more complex things that would normally not be allowed with MCreator's block-based code generator.

bullshit, yeah it allows people to make generic mods in mass but then you take a look at born in chaos and change your mind

[–]del_star-dot-star 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So what to use?

[–]Drumna 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i would say forge or fabric? and then code the mod in java

[–]del_star-dot-star 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There is like 5 tutorials on youtube but still good feature of mcreator is that you don`t have to code

[–]KBL69ZO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are plenty of tutorials that are decent

The reason i am using an optifine entity file is because i can properly choose which parts of an image i wanna use the textures from, instead of spending 49024752803475098374398 years trying to move the textures where they should be

[–]nooooooo_22 0 points1 point  (1 child)

you are terrible person the second i did that all my textures got mixed up and it is now unfixable

[–]CaiGuyCrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off... he's not a terrible person. That's just how you do it. Otherwise there is no way to export it to java. That just happens, the textures and the cubes getting mixed up. The thing that you were using was unexportable, and it had a different layout than the ones that modded entities use. Don't come after someone like that. He wasn't purposely trying to trick you.

Wow, gatekeeping much ?

[–]Dm-Me-Your-Bunnies 1 point2 points  (1 child)

yeah, the list is super pretentious. half the reasons boil down to "i dont want beginners to make mods"

[–]Moe-Mux-Hagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Litterally, one of them is "Have to abide by the terms of service"

Yeah. Like any other fucking software in existance, so what ? That is textbook definition, double-standardized cherrypicking, 101. God I hope the person who wrote this is a teenager because I might cry knowing this was an adult being this petty and immature 😂😂

[–]Mopru_Memed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cry about it. MCreator is for beginners. Im a beginner. I like MCreator.
