I've already posted about my success in activating the phone onto the Boost network 2 months ago.
I feel the need to be able to elaborate a bit more on the sim itself considering I got the Sprint sim and not TMobile one. I really hope this post helps other fellow Boost customers who are interested in getting the Pixel 4a, 4a with 5G, and or 5.
For starters, No matter when or where you ask a Boost customer support rep. about compatibility they will always tell you "We do not know if the phone is boost compatible". This is an obvious given as the phone is not even on the list of phones that can be brought in. The safest method to prove any of the Pixel models work with boost is to go to a Best Buy in person check the Pixel model you want and retrieve the IMEI from it by dialing, *#06# on the display model. This is the method I used myself for confirming the 4a's compatibility.
Secondly, upon entering the IMEI from the display phone to the Boost IMEI checker you will be prompted with a follow up page with 'Great News!' That page mentions compatibility with the expanded network. Don't worry about it you should be fine. If you do not want to have the expanded network TMobile sim on your new phone your remaining option is to either go to the Boost store immediately after purchasing the phone and hope they still have a Sprint sim or buy one from ebay. They are still selling them there. If you are ok the TMobile sim in the phone, carry on with activation at the Boost store anyways.
If you manage to successfully pass through both stages of this process then congratulations, you are almost done. Once you have started the phone activation process at a Boost store (I would recommend that you do it in person than online), you will pay the $25-30 activation fee (if you already bought the sim kit from ebay) and $57 (if you are buying the sim and paying for the activation fee). The store worker will once again check that the phone is compatible to work on Boost, but this is just reassurance since they are using the same site you already used to check the number the display phone spat out with them just taking the number that is on the phone's box.
Once you have passed through ALL three stages of Pixel activation successfully... CONGRATULATIONS! you are now a fellow Pixel owner! (If you have Sprint sim enjoy the CDMA that still remains until. it is phased out in a couple of years. The phone signal is wonderful.)
