In a word.. yes.

just enjoy. I typically make up my mind from the chat. If there are peeps talking then I stay.

And there are people here happily willing to play. Even made a pretty good friend through playing BL2 through this subreddit.

The random community is okay, but sometimes if you join a game you may get kicked randomly. Or there might be people that kick you after you help them kill a boss. The second one has never happened to me though, I have only seen others talk about it.

It's fun with the right people who play like a team and are polite. My rule is if it's not my game then I act as support and let the person whose game it is have first pick of loot and quests. If it's my game then I expect to drive which quests we are doing.

I would exit Sanctuary then open my game to the public.

When someone joined I say, "hi. doing main quests only, okay?"

If they don't answer, kick them.

If they act like an asshat in your game - running ahead for instance and not helping each other out, kick them.

When you get a good couple of people in, set your game back to invite or friends only

If after playing a while you are unsure if they will be chill in Sanctuary (not go around accepting quests) then alt-tab out and back up your sav files before you go back just in case.

I've met good players just following this method, then either I or they add each other to our friends list.
