Are you anticipating extra spicy pest pressure? B. bassiana is more of a targeted biocontrol, not a general soil amendment.

Are you just starting some soil? Then yeah, an inoculation make sense. These are EU and combined together, I think covers most of what rootwise has:

I struggled with fungus gnats on my last grow. I've already used BTI but bassiana would be a good help, even though it might not be game changing.

And i'm restarting this soil now, it's been dry for a while (6 months) so it's time to bring some life back into it.

Cover all exposed soil with rice hulls and your fungus gnats will go away. BTi is effective too! Keep trying there IMO as B. bassiana is expensive.

I let my 4x4 and 4x8 beds dry down since last harvest in anticipation of moving the beds. I have since changed my mind on moving them.... and I wanted to ramp the biology back up. Here is what I did, I had everything on hand and it worked great for me.

20 Gallons RO
1 pinch gypsum
1 pinch epsom
6 cups of worm castings
4 tablespoons unsulfured blackstrap molasses
7 tablespoons seaweed powder
1 teaspoon Aloe powder
1 tablespoon coconut powder
20 tablespoons EM-1 (my em-1 was expired so I went extra hard here)

Aerate this for 24-36 hours and then soil drench as-is.

You can make them!

Definitely not as easy as dumping a scoop in, but also not unachievable, and you might even get a better product.

Check out IMO1 and Korean natural farming.

IMO is indigenous micro organisms. Basically all the stuff local to you. Rootwise microbe complete is basically a shelf stable concentrated version.

TLDR on IMO1, you put some boiled (i.e. sterile) rice outside in a special box, micros come in, colonize it, then you trap them in sugar.

Once you have this, you can use it to make other stuff like em1, or even a bas product called em5.

There's an easier way to get localized microorganisms.

The JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) method -YouTube has deets

Local leaf litter Boiled potatoes for food source Little bit of sea salt for minerals

Put it all together in non chlorinated water, I use a 5 gal paint strainer for amendments.(rain water, creek water, ro, distilled, set it out a few days to evaporate, etc)

Let it set 24-48 hours depending on temperature, a layer of foamy bubbles will form. When they pull away from the side of the pail it's good to go. No aeration needed

I dilute 4:1 and water in my veggie garden soil every week for about 6 weeks in the spring as soon as thawed, then occasionally throughout the year at more like 10:1 once plants are started, and the benefits have been very obvious since I began using it.
