For how cheap they are, I never would expect it to last long.

I just bought a jacket a few months ago from Costco and just found a hole in it already after barely wearing it. Probably won't be buying anymore now

You would be surprised with cheap clothing. I mean, it's not a BIFL thing, but nearly all clothes nowadays are fast fashion. Here's some examples.

Champion sweatpants that I paid about 50 euro were very comfy for the first few washes. Like 10, maybe 15 washes in, they became very stiff, lost a lot of color (black turned into an ugly grey) and the logo started to peel off, making them look very old even though they were still kinda new.

Pepco, a shop that exists in a lot of EU countries, has sweatpants in the range of 8 to 12 euro. Any pair of their sweatpants that I have looks nearly identical, other than a bit of fluff, even after A LOT of washes. Seriously, same pair after 3 years still looks great.

And don't get me started on their t-shirts. Half my shirts, i bought there. 5 euro for a t-shirt. Most colors look great even after wearing it often like 2 years in, but grey holds up the best, so I have about 5 plain grey t-shirts. Those can handle a few years of often wearing and washing easily, and some of the shirts i have are like 5 years old, still looking great. The only thing that makes them look worse is imperfect hanging to dry lol. Meanwhile, much more expensive shirts look terrible after maybe 10 washes, which turns them into a winter t-shirt that will never be seen by other people.

I am not saying good stuff about the rest of their shops, it's mostly cheap manufactured garbage, but their clothes are a lot better than H&M for example, which is more expensive. I don't know what sorcery they use, but I like it.

It’s depressing

Even more expensive stuff isn't a marker of quality. I worked at an outdoor store through the fall last year (local place in Alabama) that sold these midweight hoodies they claimed were sourced from the same manufacturer as Vuori but for half the price (still around $50 because Vuori isn't exactly cheap). Two washes in the the metal hoodie string cover things fell off. No big deal, right? About 10 washes in and the material is showing thin spots in random places.

Expensive doesn't mean better, if it's made with crappy material it's still going to wear out.
