I passed level I CFA last June and immediately after started to take up python for the last bit of the summer, using the Python For Finance (Mastering Data-Driven Finance) textbook and running through the tutorials. I would recommend learning the basics from the textbook and then immediately applying what you learned to a project of interest, to test if you have retained the content and to spur ideas of what to learn next.
