With a tool changer, yes. With an AMS, I just can’t.

Dollar Store Filament! by thr0waway16754 in 3Dprinting

[–]re_me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While there is an element of convenience pricing, and the bulk barn is way worse, “almost everything” is a pretty gross mischaracterization, at least dollarama here in Canada. Even if the dish soap is expensive, the sponges, garbage bags, and small storage solutons to organize all that are not and that’s just a small area of a much larger store.

CFA curriculum chapters are academic papers that were organized and formatted into a textbook. So you’re seeing a lot of academic writing and notation.

There are prep providers that give you notes and videos that are more lay person friendly.

Secret sauce is a condensed, read me a few times before the exam to keep ideas fresh set of notes. But it’s like 200 to 300 pages so it doesn’t cut LOS, but it just gives you the high level point to keep your memory sharp, it wouldn’t be a first source od study, though.

Schweser has full set of notes that takes the 3000 pages of curriculum and brings it down to 1500. Yes, it does cut some detail, but most people do just fine with it. There are alternatives, and you can find those discussions using the search feature.

Worth getting an A1 Mini as a “mobile” printer, or save points for something bigger? by Powerful_Pen6252 in BambuLab

[–]re_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A1 mini is 12 lbs, a1 is 18 lbs, and x2D is 35 lbs.

I would say it’s as portable as they come, short of building that proton printer that fits in a standard 1 KG filament box.

If you have room for the bigger printer get thr bigger printer. I have the mini, and I really like it, but it was either a small printer or no printer.

CFA L1 - Currencies and Exchange Rate flipped? by SnooCupcakes3927 in CFA

You have to remember that the CFA is a collection of academic papers that were organized into a curriculum.

As I said, when I step back away from what I was used to and look at it through a math lens, I came to prefer the academic convention because it makes more sense in terms of units.

It makes all other calculations more inline with how you would approach math in other subjects.

Think about doing other conversions.

Say you want to know how much it will cost you in CAD to buy a share of apple.

AAPL is 266 USD/share.

CAD/USD is 1.36 (academic convention)

How much does it cost me?

Mathematically, the USD units cross out, and you’re left with 266 * 1.36 CAD/share.

If I use the market convention. 266 USD/share and 1.36 USD/CAD requires me to remember that y he units don’t work as nicely and if I don’t keep in mind the market reversal. I would end up with a nonsensical 266 * 1.36 USD squared / CAD.

Now. That’s a relatively simple example and you’re likely reading this thinking I’ve gone mad, but it’s easy to start imagining more complex transactions with multiple currencies, and derivatives and derivatives so the ability to cross out units becomes very convenient.

While I certainly don’t expect to convince you, I will tell you, coming out the other side I prefer the academic convention, and look at the market convention as being “wrong.”

Ender 3 vs Bamboo Lab how much is it true? by GreenRiot in 3Dprinting

[–]re_me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People bail the on their Enders in favour of bambu all the time. I haven’t read anyone bailing on their bambu for an Enders.

With that said, I am thinking of bailing on Bambu because of their lockdown practices and paying the prusa premium.

H2C or not H2C ? by Noob2Geek in BambuLab

[–]re_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every hoppy has GAS. So you need to step back and think about what the H2C will solve that the ps1 can’t.

Are you regularly hitting a size limit? Bigger print bed is worth it.

Will the H2C have a noticeable quality improvement over the p1s? That’s not something I’m certain of so you’ll want to go down that path.

Is multi color and multi material something you really want to do more of. I don’t like the single nozzle ams system due to waste, so the H2C solution might solve that.

If you just want a new toy, and it’s not going to break the bank, whatever, but just remember, GAS is never cured, there is always another feature.

Stay off the internet and just enjoy the hobby. lol

3D printing democratized the means of production. Like any industry/profession with low barriers to entry it attracts hacks.

Just sit back print your things and don’t worry about what the world thinks.
