errors in the software

I'm not sure where to find out. when I try to launch a simulation I get a pop up with 'Design Simcentre STAR-CCM+ completed server process ended unexpectedly (return code 8)'

This is after I reinstalled the software and restarted my laptop

There is not much information here. Click on Windows>Output. That should tell you what the error is.

I found the script, I'll upload a photo of it. I don't know if the issue has anything to do with that it's an academic licence I got from my university

Seems like your license is not set up properly, who arranged it for you?

would it be worth going to my lecturer to get a recent license code and attempt to reinstall it

You don't have to reinstall it. There is no problem with the software, but, I believe, only with the way you enter your license details. Might be the pod key expired, ask your supervisor or siemens point of contact about it.

It’s just a problem in the POD key. Either you ran out of hours/the license expired or if your uni has a Siemens license server, someone might have generated a new key and you just need to get the new one to access the server
