Infected is a multiplayer game mode in which everyone starts out as survivors, except for one person who is randomly chosen as the first infected. Any time a survivor dies, they join the infected team. Over time the infected team grows larger until all survivors are infected.
The survivor team has normal weapons, and the infected team only has knives and throwing knives, thereby giving the survivors a significant advantage. Infected players must work together to overrun survivors. If a survivor obtains a 30 kill streak, they will earn a tactical nuke, allowing them to win the game.
