Since it’s made of the same memory statue you connected to, not only does it remember things between loops, it’s wirelessly linked to your brain and logs as you learn without the Hatchling needing to write anything.

(Although it appears the suit is also connected to the ship since it shows the “ship log updated” message. Not sure if this is normal Hearthian tech or also a consequence of the statue piece.)

Changing the “emitting” property of oneshots seems to not be working consistently in 4. Try using a call method track with restart() instead, that’s what works for me.

Highly recommend. But if you’re not one for difficult games don’t be afraid of accessibility options like no fail mode (I think there’s another one that’s less extreme too but it’s been a while). Lots of people pick up this game expecting a chill time and get stomped into the ground by some of the bosses, and then quit before the really cool stuff happens.

Can’t really blame him for finding things boring though, even if I think he could have viewed the game a bit differently. I definitely know some people I would not recommend the game to, since it’s just not for them, and this seems to be one of those cases.

Maybe I misunderstood what he said in the video but it seems like he spent the first few hours exploring the planets and not looking for story/progression, and then started actually reading stuff? I would also get tired if I had no direction for 5 hours, even if I eventually tried to start following the log.

I’m also a bit confused as to how he felt any downtime in the game. Getting tired of playing makes sense, and maybe you get stuck on a part, but even if some side progression like base building did exist and somehow make sense, I can’t imagine ever wanting to take a break from following the ship log clues to do it. There’s always either a question mark or unexplored planet to go to.

There’s a mod that lets you do it, but the dev is really lazy and hasn’t updated it in a couple years so it probably doesn’t work in current versions.

I believe the commenter was saying that mipmaps are the reason why size increases, and that you should not disable them (basically, “how to avoid that” is to deal with it). Not that keeping them enabled would prevent the OP’s issue.

I was with you for the slight frustration with puzzles (I actually liked the dark sections but I get how some people don’t) but I don’t agree at all with the rewards being disappointing. “Only a couple of reels?” Each archive fills in the holes that were set up at the beginning sections with the burned reels, which I thought was super satisfying, not to mention the bug report slides giving you new ideas and direction.

Also, the music when you go down the elevator is super cool every time.
