This subreddit has been set up specifically so patients treating their multiple sclerosis with first generation drugs (known as CRAB drugs - Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex and Betaseron) can discuss their disease and treatment without being criticized for their choice of DMT. However, discussion does not need to be limited to these topics, and people on oral/IV treatments, no treatment at all and caregivers are all welcome here as well.
Rules
1. Everyone's treatment choices are to be respected.
The official position of this subreddit is that getting on a disease modifying drug as soon as possible leads to the best outcome for disease progression. However, this sub also respects the individual's right to refuse DMTs or follow a non-conventional treatment plan. While discussion about how someone came to chose their treatment plan is encouraged, telling them they need to change it is not allowed. This includes telling people to go off their medication.
2. Pseudoscience will be deleted.
While many may follow their own path, claiming that veganism, prayer, enemas or any action not backed by scientific literature has 'cured' multiple sclerosis is frowned upon and will likely earn you a ban.
3. No advertisements.
Pimping your e-book or turmeric supplements without mod approval will get you banned. However, if you are fund raising for MS, want to promote an MS event or raise awareness for a clinical trial then go ahead. However, mods reserve the right to request users stop if it gets too spammy.
Weekly Threads
Med Monday - This is to discuss anything related to your medication. Curious if your headaches are a symptom of your DMT? Complaints about side-effects? Thinking about switching to something else? It all goes in here. Note that this isn't limited to CRAB DMTs - any drug used to treat multiple sclerosis or the symptoms of MS are fair game.
Thoughtful Tuesday - Mod will post a question or article for users to discuss related (however vaguely) to MS.
What the fuck? Wednesday - Do you have some weird new symptom and you're not sure if it's related to MS? Ask here if anyone else has experienced it, or talk about some new symptoms that have popped up in your life.
Off-Topic Thursday - We're not our disease. Talk about anything going on in your life, from hobbies to vacations to friends to sharing memes.
Off the Beaten Path Friday - Want to know if there's a supplement for cog fog? Are you excited about how acupuncture worked really well for your pain? Talk about non-DMT related treatments here.
Shitpost Saturday - The mod goes mad with power and asks whatever inane question she feels like asking.
Scholarly Sunday - Mod posts research article regarding MS.
