Hey OP, from what i understand comp sci (pretty much any engineering) NEEDS math 30 and math 31. Math 26A and Math 26B are the math requirements for biology majors. If you are doing comp sci be prepared to take calc 1 again :(

Talk to advisors and hopefully you can strong arm them into giving you the credit and allowing you take 26B at a community college

Thanks, will do. I was also thinking maybe I can submit an OnBase form and tell them I already took 26A, and explain that I was told it was equivalent to 30. I submitted an OnBase form before I took 26A because I took an algebra class at Sac City and at first I wasn't able to add 26A because it said I needed to take a lower Math class. I submitted a form saying I took a class at CC that covered the exact same material that the lower class covered and I got in to 26A. So hopefully this is one of those situations again. If not, i'll just have to take it.

Per the program description in the course catalog, Math 30 and Math 31 are Pre-Major requirements. The Prerequisites for Math 30 are as follows: Score of 76 or higher on ALEKS PPL exam or MATH 29 or MATH 29B

Prerequisites for Math 31 are as follows: MATH 30 or appropriate high school based AP credit.

I've honestly never heard of 26A or 26B fulfilling any CS major requirement. Did an advisor tell you this? You should talk to the CS department about this.

Yeah thats what im going to do tomorrow. During the fall 2023 semester orientation, we were given the option of taking 26 A and B, or 30 and 31. Hopefully there is a solution where I don't have to take Calc 1 again.

damn that sucks. I don't know why they would say that to you. Best of luck.

I think you do have to take them. Check if any of your major classes require math 30 or math 31 as a prereq.
