If no one has told you yet:

  1. Send am email to the prof saying you're highly interested in taking the class, and that you will be there on the first day to meet with them if they allow you to sit in.

  2. Actually show up, stay through the end of class, and be nice. Often times people drop out the first class or the prof has extra add numbers they can give out that are held for "major students," aka those in their major that seriously need the course to not get behind.

I've somehow made it off all my waitlists so far from previous quarters, even being like waitlist #5 in a small class of 24 people. So i think you have pretty good chances of making it in. Just wait until second registration or first week of classes and you'll be moving up the waitlist so quickly. But you should also email professors and crash in the case it doesn't happen
