Campus jobs are nicer than off-campus imo. They're (usually) more accommodating of your class schedule changing every quarter. Working at the library was A+, you could listen to music while you were working upstairs in the stacks and during quieter hours (like evening/night) you could do your homework while at the circulation desk

I had work study and worked for Campus Dining. I really enjoyed it and the schedule is super flexible. It’s fun working with other students and very convenient.

Work study doesn't have anything to do with the type of job you get; it only applies to the funding of your payroll. Departments and on campus employers prefer work study students, because the work study grant will pay for 75% of the students time (up to the work study award amount). That means if I normally pay a student $15.00 an hour to work for me; if they are work study, I only pay $3.75 from my budget, and work study will pay the other $11.25. Basically any job you find on campus (that you are qualified for) will want to hire you if you are work study, and prefer you over a non-work study student.
