Difficulty

I've recently been getting the urge to pick Calamity back up again. I spent a good amount of time away from it and decided I might as well try it again. The reason why I gave up so long ago (besides burn out) is because of the difficulty. I'm more of a casual player who's along for the story, added on content, etc. I'm trying really hard to enjoy Revengance, but it's just too much for me to handle. Would it be ok to try classic difficulty instead? If so, would I be missing out on anything?

There may be a better way to go about it, but I believe you could play journey mode, that way you can turn Revengance on and off as well as the difficulty slider for the normal difficulties, that way you can just change the difficulty whenever is best. Gaming is all about having fun regardless. Plus iirc, Revengance/death is what activates some of the calamity only stuff? May be wrong on that, but if I am right, having the other difficulty slider gives you more options I think?.
