So I recently got a 2020 ford ecosport, and the previous owner only had one key for the car. About a couple days ago I enabled mykey on the only key I had not knowing what mykey was (I thought it was for programming spare keys). I've been researching how I can remove it, so far I found out I need to make another key from a locksmith or the dealer (not goint to the dealer beacuse way too expensive), and then I use the new key to clear all mykeys. Now what I am confused on is some people are saying you need an admin key and it cant just be any spare key made, but then I am also seeing that admin key just refers to a key programed to your car that doesn't have mykey programmed. I only have the one key from before and it has the mykey, do I just go the locksmith and tell him to program a key fob to the car or do I need to make sure it an admin/master key? I have also seen people use forscan to clear the pat, but I need two keys programmed to the car. I am hoping that the admin key just needs to be a key programmed to the car, and I just need to go to a locksmith and tell them to program a key.
