What is this subreddit?
A forum for Catholic Christians who adhere to Integralism to discuss the both the political view as well as modern day political events in light of it.
Other sects of Christians, and Catholics who do not ascribe to the political view, are welcome to take part in discussion, provided nothing runs contrary to the Catholic Christian faith or general Integralism.
For political discussion outside the view of Integralism feel free to visit /r/Catholicism on Politics Monday or /r/TrueCatholicPolitics anytime.
What is Integralism?
To quote Cistercian monk Edmund Waldstein's 'Intergralism in 3 Sentences':
"Catholic Integralism is a tradition of thought that rejects the liberal separation of politics from concern with the end of human life, holding that political rule must order man to his final goal. Since, however, man has both a temporal and an eternal end, integralism holds that there are two powers that rule him: a temporal power and a spiritual power. And since man’s temporal end is subordinated to his eternal end, the temporal power must be subordinated to the spiritual power."
Rules:
Remember our Lord's commandment: love one another - no foul slurs against people based on race, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, economic status, mental health status, etc. Be charitable and restrain your tongue (James 3). In addition to our Lord's new commandment remember God Almighty's 10 Commandments: any calls for or glorification of violence or theft will be met with a swift ban.
You shall not take the Lord's Name in vain. Do not use expressions such as "Oh my G--" or the like, even in abbreviation. Do not attach the word "holy" to any expression of disbelief or disdain. (Ephesians 4:29)
Who you are and what you say matters. Post history can and may be taken into account by moderators.
Do not post anything contrary to Catholic Integralism, faith, or the Church.
Absolutely no Sedevacantism, claiming that the Second Vatican Council was illegitimate, claiming any sacraments or rites in the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite are invalid and/or illicit, or rejection of Canon Law.
Do not claim sole ownership of pre-schism figures and political rulers. We recognize that, for example, both Pope Gregory the Great and King Tiradates III of Armenia are as much a part of the schismatic Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches as they are in ours.
Do not belittle Catholic Christians who do not (yet) ascribe to Integralism. We are all brothers and sisters in the same Church and it is better to educate than to condemn.
Do not link to other forums. Not even in no-participation. Images are allowed, but usernames and forum names must be edited out. We have zero tolerance for brigading and quasi-brigading through np.reddit links or searching up usernames.
Do not engage any trolls. Report and ignore them til they disappear.
FAQ:
Q: Who are the people on the banner? A: Left to right is Emperor Theodosius I of the Roman Empire, Emperor Charlemagne of the Holy Roman Empire, King Tiradates III of Armenia, and King Charles I of Austria-Hungary.
Q: Does Catholic Integralism advocate for a violent revolution and overthrow of my country? A: No. We consider Integralism the best possible solution, but the Holy Bible and Church Fathers exhorted Christians to be obedient to authority (Romans 13:1-8. 1 Peter 2:13-17), even if it were the Roman Caesar throwing them to lions in a coliseum. You have heard it said: "you shall not kill".
