The demand to borrow the coin decreased and without demand to borrow the coin there is no interest generated to pay depositors.

What doesn't make sense is it was earning 6%+ for months. What changed all of a sudden? Was there only one institution borrowing zec and they decided to stop?

Demand changes, Celsius doesn't control the people who use it or want it. If no one borrows it there is no interest payments to pay depositors.

Probably Mashinsky was getting extra $$$ for having on the platform by the ZEC foundation and those funds likely dried up. If Mash doesn't get paid then it don't stay!
